To the Parents of our prospective Martial Arts Campers,
We are very excited to be offering our Martial Arts Summer Camp again this year! Here are just a few things to expect this year. Please be sure to let us know if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
Early Registration deadline is Friday, June 1st.
If you register and pay by May 31st, your child's Camp T-shirt is FREE! If you register after that, camp t-shirts will be $20.00.
Final Registration deadline is Friday, June 15th.
If you register past this date, there is a $10 late registration fee and your child will not recieve a camp t-shirt due to deadlines in the t-shirt ordering process.
Discipline: We have certain rules and expectations of our campers. We expect that throughout the day, we will need to attend to disciplinary issues. However, if a child is not respecting the rules and disruptive behavior continues, we will contact the parent to have the child picked up. We want everyone to have a great time, but one disrespectful or disruptive child can be a big distraction for the others.
Lockers: Each student will have use of a locker. They will need to store any books, games and other items they wish to bring. We also suggest an additional change of clothes to keep in the students’ locker in case of any spills or accidents. Please mark any important items with your child’s name to ensure they don’t get misplaced.
Snacks: We will be providing a daily snack for your child. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies or negative reactions to certain foods. Please feel free to send us an email with any suggestions on good snacks for your child. Feel free to send any additional snacks your child may require.
Lunches: Please bring a sack or bag lunch for your child each day. We do have the ability to refrigerate, but do not have the capability to cook anything. Please be sure the bag is clearly marked with your child’s name.
Medication: If your child requires any medication throughout the day, please bring to us in a plastic Ziploc bag with their name labeled on it. Please include any information on dosage, times and instructions for administering.
Clothing : Please have your child wear comfortable clothing. Girls, if you wear a skirt, please have shorts underneath. We have lots planned and won’t have time for the children to change into their Karate Uniforms; we will be having Karate Classes in street clothes. Dress to be ACTIVE.
Books, Etc: From 4:30 to 5:30 daily, we will have quiet wind-down time. Please bring summer reading assignments, books, coloring books, Nintendo DS, etc for your child to work on during this time. We will have some “loaner” books available for your child if necessary. We cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items... please consider this when sending items with your child to camp.
Wednesday is Talent Show Day: On Wednesday, your child will have the opportunity to showcase his or her special talent. If you have any special items they would need for their talent, please bring them. (examples of talents may be: Karate Form, Weapons Demo, Singing, Musical Instrument, puppet shows, dancing, gymnastics, juggling, magic show, etc.
Friday is Water Fun Day: Please have your child wear their swim suit under their clothing. Bring a towel, change of clothes, flip-flops, and water gun. We will provide SPF 30 sunscreen. If your child needs something else, please provide that for them.
